Membership Dues (January 1 - December 31)

Joining the Vancouver Branch or renewing your membership is easy. We encourage members to pay their yearly membership dues by credit card through the new secure CiviCRM online membership system via the UELAC.ca Dominion website.

Canadian members may pay by cheque; however, the use of the secure online payment system is encouraged. For members paying by cheque, please complete the Membership Application and/or Membership Renewal forms that are available in MS Word and PDF formats.

Members outside Canada are required to use the secure online payment system, which will automatically calculate the currency exchange rate at the time of payment. All payments are in Canadian currency (CAD).

Types of Memberships:

If you wish to obtain a Loyalist Ancestor certificate, please complete the Line of Descent form (MS Word / PDF) and return it to Vancouver Branch Genealogist Linda Nygard, UE, at linda_nygard@telus.net.

Membership Dues must be received prior to completion of the Line of Descent form being forwarded to the Vancouver Branch Genealogist.

The United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada has many branches, and new members are always encouraged to join the group that meets closest to where they live. There are four Pacific Region branches that serve a vast geographical area including the Yukon and some western states in the USA.

Your membership includes:

The UELAC publishes Loyalist Trails, a weekly email newsletter for Members and friends containing a variety of information items from the Branches, the Association, various Committees and others with common interests. Anyone interested in receiving Loyalist Trails can subscribe for free.

Branch Activities

Most of the work in the Vancouver Branch focuses on learning and disseminating information about the Loyalist era of Canadian history. We bring that knowledge to our membership through our meetings; to the public by attending special events; and, to young students.

We also help people who wish to receive a certificate that says they have provided documentation of their lineage to a Loyalist ancestor. This is usually the biggest reason people join a branch and one of the best ways a branch member can make a lasting contribution – by helping to identify all the Loyalists. We encourage everyone to share what they know about our ancestors by contributing to the Loyalist Directory and help populate the Online Loyalist Resources section of the Dominion website so we can properly document and share this part of Canadian history with everyone. It is just another way of giving back to our communities. We also work hard at having fun.
