She began genealogy in 1993 looking to trace medical issues genetically which led her to join Daughters of the American Revolution and 22 other heritage societies. One of her jobs required genealogy (Child Protective Services) to verify if a child coming into the guardianship with the state (Child Protective Service) had indigenous ancestor or not (this would be needed for rights and type of placement).
Other hobbies are Crochet, painting and Bee Keeping. She has been married to Matthew Ozog for 33 years. She is the mother of three adult children and has two granddaughters.
Brenda started volunteering at photographing cemeteries before Findagrave through the Wayne County Genweb Project. She has volunteered with museums and has sat on their committees.
