Zoom Link (copy/paste): To Be Announced
Speaker: Jane E. Macnamara
Subject Matter/Presentations info: Our Speaker for the November 22nd Annual General Meeting will be Jane E. Macnamara, speaking to us by zoom. She is a long-time member of the Ontario Genealogical Society and has spoken to many groups throughout Ontario. Her topic will be “Untangling Township Papers”. Township papers are a highly organized series of records resulting from the very hectic and disorganized activities of the Crown Lands Department. Jane will try and show us how to untangle this mass of paperwork to let you check your ancestor’s property. The Township Papers are available online and for free. She has recently led a project to digitize the Archives of Ontario’s “Ontario Land Records Index” with The Internet Archive. For more information about Jane and her work, please visit wherethestorytakesme.ca.
