LOYALIST DAY ACTIVITES 2024


Stone Church Concert

May 15

The Early Music Studio will present three concerts in Stone Church (87 Carleton Street) this year as part of the events marking the church's 200th Anniversary. The first of these performances will take place on Wednesday, May 15th at 12:15pm until 1:00pm and will feature Ensemble 18c. (Tim Blackmore, recorder; Katherine Moller, baroque violin; Robert Lewis, baroque bassoon) playing a program of Loyalist Period flute trios by Weiss, Hoffmeister and Cambini.


Flag Raising Ceremony

May 16

Join us for a flag raising ceremony to mark the 241st landing of the Loyalists! City of Saint John –front of City Hall, 15 Market Square, May 16th 10:00am. See more details on the "New Brunswick Loyalists" Facebook page. All Welcome.

N.B.: A Loyalist Flag will also be raised in front of the New Brunswick Legislature – 706 Queen Street, Fredericton – on May 18th.


Loyalist Pops Concert

May 18

To mark the anniversary of the landing of the Loyalists on May 18th, 1783, the Saint John Arts Centre and the Early Music Studio of Saint John are pleased to present 1783: A Loyalist Pops Concert performed by Tim Blackmore (square piano) on Saturday, May 18th from 12:15 to 1:00 pm at the Saint John Arts Centre, 20 Peel Plaza. This program will feature 18th century solo piano versions of tunes which would have been very familiar to the first Loyalists arriving here. A Freewill Offering will be accepted.
