Biography : Captain Garrett Miller was a Quarter Master of the Royal Rangers, Colonel Peters Corp. He landed in NY Province in 1772, worked in Vermont and then settled in the Camden Valley 1775. He enlisted at Crown Point in 1776 was wounded at the Battle of Bennington in 1777, taken prisoner, gaoled for two years then escaped and fled to Sorel Quebec. He was granted an Honorable Discharge May 1, 1781. He stayed in Sorel till 1796 when he moved with his family to Napanee Mills, Ernestown, Bay of Quinte
