Biography : John McLaney wrote his will on 2 September 1845 at Pelham Township and it was probated there on 19 May 1846. He was a member of the Pelham (Quaker) Meeting which records his marriage to Elizabeth Taylor on 11 December 1805 and the births (and deaths) of their seven children: Martha Brown McLaney, John Taylor McLaney, Hannah Lucas McLaney, Anna McLaney, Rebecca D. [likely Dennis] McLaney, Andrew J. McLaney and Hannah Crosier McLaney. Of these, only Martha and Hannah married and had issue, Martha's only son dying in early childhood. Hannah married Thomas Gould and had a son and daughter; the daughter married Henry Dennis Sanders, a descendant of Elizabeth McLaney and Matthias Sanders.

See the record for John Dennis in which the document "Children and Grandchildren of Martha Brown and 1. Andrew McLaney and 2. John Dennis" has many details and sources.
