REMEMBRANCE DAY

Friday Nov. 11, 11:00 a.m.

We will be gathering together at the Cenotaph in downtown Chilliwack at 10:15 a.m. The Heibner family will be placing a wreath for the Chilliwack Branch UEL. Following the service, lunch will be at Canton Gardens.

Congratulations is extended to Alan Reid UE. Alan was honoured by his employer, Price Smart Foods, for his dedication to his work at the store. Alan has been employed there for 20 years, missing only 1 day of work in that time.  A dinner was held in honour of Alan and other store employees on Oct. 20 in Chilliwack.  At that time, Alan was presented with a watch. Allan is Chilliwack Branch UE's faithful flag bearer.  He also arrives early and stays late to help set up tables and chairs for the meetings.

Well, done Alan.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) -- Transportation Safety Administration officials aren't saying exactly what was in two pieces of luggage that looked so suspicious on X-rays they evacuated Bellingham International Airport Tuesday and called in a bomb squad. Port of Bellingham spokeswoman Carolyn Casey told The Bellingham Herald authorities questioned a man and a woman believed to the owners of the luggage. The Bellingham police bomb squad determined there wasn't anything harmful in the luggage. Casey said the items inside the bags were configured in a weird way. Two airplane departures were delayed and about 50 people were moved outside the terminal during the two-hour evacuation.

Judy Scholz, UE, & her 3 daughters Cindy Lyftogt UE, Becky Heibner UE & Vicky Heibner UE wait outside the Bellingham terminal. They are on their way to Disneyland for a few days.

Each week we are seeing more activity and interest in the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada Twitter feed@uelac. Thank you to our members and interested followers for jumping into the conversation. We hope to see more of you as the weeks progress.
You can read our Twitter feed from the Dominion website www.uelac.org. On the top right beside the Google search box is a blue letter 't'. When you click on that it brings you to the Twitter home page of the United Empire Loyalists' Assoc. Clicking on the blue letter 't' below the right hand menu bar on the UELAC Dominion web page where it says 'Connect with us on Twitter' does the same. There you can read the tweets that are going out from our Association.
I you would like to become a follower and actively participate (which we encourage) go to twitter.com to open an account. I look forward to seeing you there!
