Where we are permitted, we will erect a sign as shown here, to identify the Loyalist burial sites. The majority of them were buried on their farms, because there were very few cemeteries in this area&nbsp;in the early 1800s. As you can no doubt appreciate, the Loyalists&#8217; original farms and lands have changed hands multiple times over the past 200 years, which adds to our challenges in pinpointing their precise burial sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As our branch successfully identifies and installs signage on local Loyalists&#8217; burial sites, we will post information here about their backgrounds and the new lives that they forged in southwestern Ontario.
